- Pre-heat oven to 300/150.
- Add vinegar to milk, and set aside for 5 minutes.
- Add sugar, butter and thawed bananas with their liquid to a large bowl and roughly blend with a fork.
- Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and buttermilk.
- Add half of batter to metal loaf pan.
- Sprinkle half the nuts over the batter.
- Add the other half of batter to the pan and top with the other half of nuts.
- Bake for 75 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out cleanly.
- Allow bread to cool in pan for 30 minutes before turning out and slicing.
